Quit Smoking Shot – An Introduction

Perhaps you have seen advertisements recently for the quit smoking shot.  You probably thought, “A shot to quit smoking for good?  Is there really such a thing?  Or is it just another scam?”  Of course you’re skeptical, especially after having tried all the gimmicks and ways to stop smoking out there (but with no results): acupuncture, hypnosis, nicotine gum, etc.

Just what is the stop smoking shot?  Well to begin with let me say what it’s not.  The quit smoking shot is not an injection of nicotine into your body to satisfy your craving.  The ingredients in the stop smoking shot actually work to reduce or eliminate withdrawal symptoms by essentially producing the same feeling in the brain that it gets from nicotine, but without introducing more nicotine into your body.  Does it work?  For many people it does, providing they are committed to quit smoking for good in the first place.  For some people, however, the physical effects of withdrawal are too strong and even the stop smoking injection or quit smoking pill isn’t enough to help them quit.

As new as it is, the quit smoking shot hasn’t been subject to extensive testing to determine its long term effectiveness.  Many suppliers of the quit smoking injection claim a success rate of around 80%, but again, that claim has not been proven via an extensive study.

Is the quit smoking shot safe?  The shot itself – that is, the specific combination of ingredients that make up the shot – is not actually approved by the FDA.  The individual ingredients are each approved by the FDA and deemed to be safe when properly administered under a doctor’s care, and doctors are allowed to administer them.  They’re even allowed to administer them in combination as a quit smoking shot.  But their use for such a purpose has never been formally approved or been proven effective by the FDA. One important note: The quit smoking shot is not for use in pregnant women nor in anyone suffering from a heart condition.

Are there any side effects to the quit smoking shot?  There can be, but they’re typically temporary and tend to subside in a short amount of time.  Some commonly reported side effects include things like confusion, dizziness, dry mouth, blurry vision, and difficulty urinating.

Is the quit smoking shot for you?  It probably is, especially if you are among the countless individuals who have tried to quit smoking for good only to find themselves defeated time and time again by their seemingly unbreakable addiction to nicotine.  Speak to your doctor and see what he or she says.  It just might be one of the best stop smoking tips you ever receive, and your first step to a cigarette free life.
